Tour Itinerary

1

Mount Coot-tha Lookout

Mount Coot-tha Lookout
Mount Coot-tha Lookout

Mount Coot-tha Lookout gets its name from the local Aboriginal word “Kuta,” which means “honey.” The area was once rich in wild bees, and Indigenous Australians would come here to collect native honey. In the early 19th century, European settlers adopted the pronunciation and spelled it “Coot-tha,” giving the mountain its current name—literally, “Honey Mountain.”

As Brisbane’s most iconic lookout point, Mount Coot-tha stands at about 287 meters above sea level. Listed as a heritage site, it offers not only breathtaking panoramic views of Brisbane city and the winding Brisbane River, but also deep cultural and historical significance. On clear days, you can see all the way to Moreton Bay. It’s a popular spot for both sunrise and sunset, and the nearby café and gift shop make it a perfect place to relax with a coffee and pick up a memorable souvenir.

2

South Bank Parklands

South Bank Parklands
SouthBankPark Ferris Wheel
Southbank

South Bank Parklands is Brisbane’s most renowned urban oasis, combining tropical gardens, a man-made beach, cultural spots, and lively eateries—all along the scenic Brisbane River. It’s a favorite weekend retreat for locals and a must-visit for travelers looking to unwind or explore.

Stroll through The Arbour, a dreamy walkway covered in purple bougainvillea, or take a dip at Streets Beach—a white-sand lagoon pool that’s free and right in the city.

Don’t miss the colorful “BRISBANE” sign, now a city symbol, or the Wheel of Brisbane, where amazing panoramic views await. With weekend markets, live performances, and outdoor movies, South Bank buzzes year-round. Perfect for families, couples, or solo visitors, it captures the best of Brisbane’s charm.

3

Kangaroo Point

Kangaroo Point

Kangaroo Point Cliffs is a popular outdoor destination in Brisbane, known for its incredible cliffs and stunning riverside views. These cliffs were built in the 19th century, constructed using stones quarried by convicts. Today, they’re one of the few natural rock formations in Brisbane that offer outdoor rock climbing, attracting enthusiasts both day and night.

Beyond climbing, Kangaroo Point is also a favorite spot for walking, jogging, and picnics. The clifftop trail offers sweeping views of the Brisbane River winding through the city, with the Story Bridge stretching gracefully across the water—a perfect backdrop for photos or simply soaking in the scenery.

4

Story Bridge

Storybridge
Storybridge

The Story Bridge is one of Brisbane’s most acclaimed landmarks — and what makes it even more exciting is that it’s open to the public for guided climbs, offering spectacular views from above the city. Completed in 1940, this steel cantilever bridge stretches 777 meters across the Brisbane River, linking the city center with the northern suburbs. Despite its name, the bridge isn’t about storytelling—it was actually named after John Douglas Story, a former public servant and key figure in Queensland’s infrastructure development.

The Story Bridge Adventure Climb lets visitors ascend to the top for breathtaking 360-degree views from 80 meters above the river. It’s especially breathtaking at sunset, as the skyline glows with golden light and the city begins to sparkle. After dark, the bridge illuminates in vibrant colors, casting shimmering reflections on the river — making it one of Brisbane’s most magical spots for nighttime views.

5

Manly Boathouse

The Manly Boathouse is one of Brisbane’s most popular seaside dining spots, located by the scenic Manly Harbour on the city’s eastern coast. Set beside the picturesque marina, it features a restaurant, café, and bar, all offering stunning waterfront views. Loved by both locals and visitors, it’s perfect for everything from brunch to a seafood dinner.

With its white timber charm and relaxed coastal atmosphere, it’s a popular spot for stunning photos. Sunset is the perfect time to visit—when the sea breeze is refreshing and the sky transforms into a canvas of soft, dreamy hues as the sun melts into the horizon.

5

CityCat Ferry

CityCat
CityCat

The CityCat is one of Brisbane’s most beloved and scenic ways to travel—gliding smoothly along the Brisbane River aboard sleek, modern catamarans. It connects major destinations like South Bank, the city centre, Kangaroo Point, and the University of Queensland, making it both practical and picturesque. With frequent departures and stunning waterfront views, it’s a relaxing and memorable way to experience the heart of the city.

For an unforgettable experience, hop aboard at sunset—when golden light dances on the water and the city shimmers to life. As the river transforms into a scene of pure magic, you’ll understand why many say: you haven’t truly seen Brisbane until you’ve cruised it on the CityCat.
