Along the way, stop by charming coastal towns like Apollo Bay, where you can enjoy a relaxing break with fresh seafood and ocean breezes. In Kennett River, take the opportunity to spot wild koalas nestled in eucalyptus trees and hand-feed vibrant native birds, making for a truly special wildlife experience.
Capture a memorable photo at the historic Memorial Arch, a tribute to the soldiers who built the Great Ocean Road, then unwind at the serene Fairhaven Beach. Before the day ends, visit the Split Point Lighthouse, perched atop dramatic cliffs, where you can soak in sweeping coastal vistas that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Spend the day indulging in the finest flavors of one of Australia’s most renowned wine regions, where a cool climate and abundant rainfall create ideal conditions for world-class winemaking. With over 100 wineries to explore, the Yarra Valley offers a diverse range of experiences, from large, internationally recognized estates to intimate, family-run vineyards.
Among its many exceptional wineries, Domaine Chandon stands out with its deep French heritage and masterfully crafted sparkling wines, offering a refined tasting experience in a picturesque setting. Meanwhile, Yering Station, the valley’s oldest vineyard, beautifully balances tradition and innovation, producing some of Australia’s most distinguished wines. As you sip and savor, take in the breathtaking vineyard landscapes, making this an indulgent and relaxing day in wine country.

Start your morning with a visit to the vibrant Brighton Bathing Boxes, where the colorful beach huts provide a picture-perfect backdrop against the golden sands and sparkling blue waters. These iconic structures, dating back over a century, reflect Melbourne’s coastal charm and history, making for a delightful photo opportunity.
Next, head to Maru Koala & Animal Park for an up-close encounter with Australia’s unique wildlife. Wander through the park and meet friendly kangaroos, wallabies, emus, and even fluffy alpacas, while getting the rare chance to see koalas up close. In the summer months, take a leisurely afternoon stroll along the coastal town of Cowes, where you can enjoy a delicious seaside dinner with delightful coastal views.
As night falls, take in the dramatic coastal scenery at The Nobbies, where rugged cliffs meet the crashing waves of the Bass Strait and watch the sunset over the ocean. Melbourne’s got a thing for wild temperature swings—daytime sunshine, cool evenings—so a light jacket is a must, no matter the season. Oh, and Australia’s sun means business, so slap on some sunscreen, throw on your sunnies, and grab a hat to stay sun-safe!
